When driving normally a few weeks ago, I noticed a slight ticking noise on the passengers side of the motor. It finally got a little louder, and stayed about the same. It does not seem it had effected the way the car runs. This is what I checked....
Took off the valve cover, inspected the rocker arms, and the lift of the rockers..seem OK
I looked for cracks in the manifold, exhaust pipes. I did find however and exhaust leak where the 3' DP connects into the exhaust, but the ticking does not seem to come from there.
I have yet to check the exhaust manifold gasket. Could this be it ?
I am sorry if I sound like an idiot trying to explain a "ticking" sound.
I did consider a blown head gasket, but I see no oil or water seeping. Maybe it just hasn't blown far enough yet?
What else should I check for? Thank you. Tom
