hey guys ...i seem to hear some noise from the cam sensor area at cold start up...what are some remedies from someones past experiences...if any
i ask cause i have a weird problem im trying to figure out...if i drive the car its seems to be fine...but i shut it down say 15-20 minutes and when i restart it wants to stall and seems to be loading up...i have too clear it out by reving it up a little..then all is well until i shut her down again and the same things happen.
but morning startup seems to be okay....thanks for the input
except the noisy cam sensor...
 
Cam sensor on my 87 is noisy when cold too (157,000 miles). A local TR vendor told me to ignore it since the car runs fine. Also, Kirban's catalog says the cam sensors can get noisy with age/miles and can cause poor idle. Kirban sells replacements.

Your cranking issue sounds like it could be a leaky injector. A leaker will drip fuel into the intake manifold after you shut down. If the car is cold the next time you start it up, the extra fuel vapor causes it to fire up right away. Cold engines love extra fuel. If the engine is warm the next time you start, it will crank for a longer time and may load up a little. Warm engines do not like extra fuel. Cleaning the injectors may help, but I replaced mine when I had this problem.

my cold engine does not like extra fuel.

my car, if let to sit for long enough for the FP to bleed down into the cylinders, will crank for ****ing ever until it airs out all that _extra_ fuel.

if you dont leave it long enough for it to bleed down then it starts right up.
 
Hmmm... must be a pretty hefty leak there. Most engines like a little extra fuel during cold crank. In the old days it was done with a choke. Now most EFI calibrators use cold crank fuel multipliers.
