Can anyone verify for me if the below is indeed a NOS GN exhaust? Guy claims everything is there except the muffler. Gotta be honest I've never seen one of these before but it looks legit with the GM part #s and even the painted black tail pipes.

Thanks
B-

Looks correct to me. I can't verify the part numbers but I have a takeoff from a 7,000 mile GN and it all looks the same. My tail pipes are still attached to the factory muffler though. I don't want to know what he wants for that if it's legit. Good luck.

Yea I know the Factory installed exhaust was welded to the muffler at the over the axle pipes, this one appears to be a NOS replacement exhaust. I do have a NOS replacement muffler that has the holes for the tailpipes. I guess the replacements are this way because you can't get the factory off without cutting the pipes. Guy also claims to have a brand new NOS cat for it as well.

Does your exhaust have the part numbers stamped somewhere in the steel on the pipes?

So after researching the part numbers, it appears part of this setup is for a 84-85 Turbo Buick. The mid pipe(after the Cat) and the converter are different than the 86-87 ones. The tailpipes and over the axle pipes are the same for 84-87 TBs though. But It looks like the type of flanges used to connect the mid pipes to the cats is what's different....Damnit! Since I have a 86 GN.
:(

Yea it's a shame too because I hardly doubt anyone with a 84-85 car would be interested in the cat and the midpipe.

I'll pop out to the shop tonight and take a look. I know it's on the muffler, but I'm not sure about the individual pipes.

So just an update to this I did end of purchasing the tail pipes and the over the axle pipes. I advised the guy about this website and the big buick show at norwalk this may to help him out in selling the cat and midpipe.

@ALBERTAN any chance you want to sell your 7k mile midpipe?

Much as I'd love to help a forum member out, and although I am getting out of the Limiteds which are why I started accumulating rare NOS(-type) parts in the first place, I'm not ready to part with any just yet. I just put a brand new set of period-stamped still in their factory wrap Goodyear Eagles (brand new tires from 87 never out of their shipping wrappers, not the new remans from Highway Stars) up on the wall on a tire rack today and hung a couple of unused 9 hole hood pads up as well.

My name is Dean and I'm a hoarder...

Wow well if you ever decide let me know, I promise the parts will go to a good home!
