Mine did that. I got the caspers jumper and never looked back. Thought you do need to make sure the alternator is charging. I made a thread when I had this prob.

battery light does not come on.. I had the battery and the alternator checked and they are both good... if I turn the car on and disconnect the battery cable, the car dies.

1fastcobra is telling you correct the bulb must work In order for the alternator to charge or just do Casper's field fix and be done

If the battery light does not light up your car WILL NOT charge. It's a stupid ass design, and whoever at GM thought it was a good idea for a warning system to TAKE OUT the charging system needs to be flogged.

Also, NEVER take a battery cable loose to 'check the charging system'. It is a great way to destroy a lot of perfectly find parts and send you way down the wrong rabbit hole of troubleshooting!

ok, I changed ALL the bulbs and I noticed that none of the bulbs are lighting up, except for the check engine. in other words, only one works (check engine works). the turning signals, brake light, seat belt, and others don,t light... I checked ALL the fuses and they are all good.

Ck the plug on the back of the cluster
With age plug pulls away and does not make good contact.
Sometimes to ck this turn the key to the run position and push on the cluster the lights 90% of the time come on
And will then go out when u let go
