Some years back when I first got my 9/11 it would sometimes lock up and at other times wouldn't. After being returned to Rusty at TCS for a restall it would then lock up all the time.
Just recently I got the car running again after a new motor. I didn't check the tranny fluid since it should have been alright since last time. I knew it would be a little low since I'd put in new soft lines from tranny to cooler but not enough to worry about.
So on my test drive it wouldn't lock up. (I have a manual switch.) Talking sternly to it did no good. I then checked the fluid level and it was low. So I overfilled it as usual by a pint over the line. Voila, it now locks up.
I've heard of others having trouble with their 9/11's not locking. For those of you who have experienced the occasional non locking try overfilling it.
