Not making ANY boost

Just installed a new downpipe with a 38mm adjustable waste gate set up and tubonetics boost controller. I'm running a TE 44 turbo. The dash says its making like 3 lbs of boost at WOT. I know that's not right. I'm running the lines like the picture but Y-ed to the stock boost controller of the "Pressure fitting to Turbo" line. Is that wrong? And if so, what do I do with the stock boost controller connection. Just looking for some insight.

You don't use the stock boost controller connection at all. It will still actuate but it won't be part of the loop anymore.

You MUST run it like the picture. Nothing of the stock plumbing involved.

"dash says".... You do not rely on that gauge. Get a real 0-30/vac gauge, and mount it where you can see it.

I fixed the lines so it's runnning like the picture but it sputters at WOT and almost stalls. Also, it wont shift passed second I don't know what the hell is goin on.

NEVER rely on the stock dash gauge for accurate boost readings. They are just there to look pretty. Put a real boost gauge on it and report back. And yes, vacuum lines need to be hooked up as in the drawing you posted. Do NOT use the stock hoses as there is a restrictor in the plastic y. If you are running a Turbo Tweak chip you can completely remove the stock wastegate solenoid and it won't set a code. Just tape up the connector and tuck it under the intake manifold.

Yeah, don't do that again. I think you were probably overboosting the crap out of it. The guys are obviously right about the stock boost gauge. Most of them don't function at all after 25 years. I had mine redone just because everything on my car should work I figure but I never read it.

figured it out: up pipe came loose but was still in the coupling so I didn't see if first. It's barkin' tires now
