The same thing has happened to me the last 2 times at the track. I tried to turn boost up from 20 to around 22 and it went down to 18 instead of up. Happened with a te60 and ta49. I do have a boost controller also on the car know, but I was all the way down on the controller and having to use some of the rod, should be making 22 plus at this point. Anyone ever had problems with a boost controller. It works great on my friends GN.thanks

What kind of controller is it? Like the RJC valve? Screwing it in shouldn't make the boost go down...and you screwed the wastegate rod in, right?

I would check for vacuum leaks or maybe even a small exhaust leak next...

Also, a big difference in air temps can cause your car to make more or less boost psi. Mine will make about 20 when it's hot outside, 22 when it's in the 60s, 24ish when it's cold, and even more when it gets a shot of nitrous

Yes, I do have the RJC boost controller. I can't find any vacuum leaks, but I will keep trying.

When i got mine seemed not just write but played with controler found what my car responded to as the way boost came on then I fine tunet with rod to set where I wanted final boost seems to work good now for me.Iknow that is not acording to the directions from rjc but for my combo made me happy hope helps

How do you have your setup (plumbing)? Something's not right.

I use a boost controller too, not RJC, but same thing. I eliminated the wastegate solenoid from the plumbing. I basically have what's called "Tuner Style" using the boost controller.

I'd have to look but jason showed us where to attach lines think was connected on actuater then to outlet on intake side of of turbo been a while though, boost comes up like normal to 10 lbs then rapdly moves up to set boost Mine at 21 lbs car ran alot better then pulled better. We were old to set actuater to think 15 lbs then put controler on after jason set it at his trailer. once we played around with them a little they worked love it was grate bang for the buck. And jason was even helping us do this in between rounds he is a grate guy makes good products. Installed power plate when got home from bg.But I will check into mounting as don't want to pass on bad info. All three of our cars have different combos and all were happy with different adjustements or how far they were turned out. end result they made boost faster cars ran better we had fun and were happy with our new purchases. sorry if anything said incorect just trying to help and pass on our experience with controllers. and thank you four input also as you can never know enough about these cars.

Looked at car one hose goes to actuator the other goes to compressor side on the brass barb yes the waste gate solenoid is removed as no longer needed this is how worked for us but if there is still problems maby jason at rjc should be called also check the hose to the actuater as rjc kit hose to actuater is a tite fit, can tear it when putting on but it has to be so no leaks hope helps
