I am getting a little confused, the plan was to slowly turn up the boost until I see knock, then back it up a little, then make fuel adjustments in the chip if needed. I am controlling the boost with the factory setup with a standard adjustable actuator. The waste gate bypass hole is ported to .960.I have 3 PowerLogger files, why is timing being pulled in LogFile 9 and 11, when all I did was increase boost by a 1/2 turn in each to help lean it out a little. Thanks for your help, ikle.

Here's log 11.

I don't see any knock retard. Where did you see it?

Everything looks great on that run.

Eric, thanks for looking. When I go in gauge mode I see in the spark gauge that timing goes from 18.0 to 17.6 in LogFile 9 and 11.All the other runs I logged the timming stays at 18.0 at WOT at the top of third gear.I dont understand why the only thing I changed was added a little more boost. Also it looks like I am running a little rich should I add more boost or should I pull some fuel out at WOT in all gears. I beleive the WBO2's should be between 11.40-11.80, what do you think ? Sorry to bother you but I am new to tuning and I am learning as I go.Thanks again, ikle.:D

The most important thing as Eric pointed out is that you didn't get any knock on those runs.

The ecm determines the base spark advance based on load (LV8) and rpm then it adjusts based on coolant temperature. The way its set up in your chip is a little advance is added until the coolant is about 176 degF. So as the temperature goes up, the advance is reduced. My theory is that's the reason you see a difference in timing -- the coolant temp. adjustment.

At WOT in Log 11 the temp was a steady 167 with 17.6 deg adv. The equivalent portion in Log 9 was 168 - 169 degF with 17.6 deg adv. However, in Log 8 the temperature was a colder 164 - 165 degF with 18 deg adv. If you look at Log 8, frame #601, you'll see the advance go from 18 to 17.6 degrees at the same time the coolant goes from 165 to 167 (now the same temp. as the other runs).

Eric will have to respond to your question about rich/lean fuel.
