Hey Trent,
Good to hear from you, get that rascal fixed and do some racin'. I haven't been to the track this year, seems everytime I plan on going, something comes up to mess my weekend up...mainly work!
I changed back to the stock 3:42 gears this last weekend, don't know what that'll do to my et. In a full quarter the stockers may work better but for a 1000' track I believe the 4:11's with 28" tires may have worked better??
Last year I was able to coax a 9.97 @104.83 out of my car spinning the slicks a little midway thru first, also got my best (so far) 60' time of 1.67 on that run launching at 4-6 #'s, and finishing the run with 21#'s showing on TL. I have a set of airbags to install which should hopefully help the 60' factor a little. It was the only run that I made that I didn't get a backfire/pop from having the cam sensor installed a few degrees off.
Hope to do a little better this year as I "think" I may have a better handle on the tuning. I better have a handle on the tune, cause I intend to lean on it pretty hard this year.
I feel for ya on the head gaskets cause I shore have replaced/blown my share of em. I now run a single steel shim using clear Permatex as per LC. Plus I used ARP head studs this time, so I'm hoping I can forget about the gasket problem(s) for a while.
How do you like the 9/11? Right now I have a 10.5" non l/u (32-3400 stall) and I really like it, and it's very streetable but I'm going to be on the hunt for a lockup soon.
How's your Dad doing, I haven't seen or heard from him in a while? Your welcome to stop by anytime I still love to talk turbo Regals just as well today as I did 16 years ago when I bought mine. Be good to see you again.
Later,
Jerry
