O2 thread tap size

I guess only a person who had to do this might know but does anyone know the proper size tap to run through the header for the O2 sensor? Thanks

I am pretty sure it is 1/2" NPT. Maybe 3/4" NPT but definately NPT. Clear as mud?

No, it's a metric straight (not tapered pipe) thread.

M18-1.5.

Taps are expensive and somewhat hard to locate (except by mail order).

Your right on the thread size,
and Snap-On generally has em on board.

Fors uses that thread size (for plugs)so if you live on the wrong side of town, maybe a neighbor would have one....

Guess I will have to check my tap tonight and see. I know I have one that I used in the past for this but thought it was an NPT. Metric huh

The thread chaser you can buy at the local NAPA, etc, for spark plugs works just fine to clean'm out!..

I checked mine tonight and they are correct, the metric tap is for the O2. The NPT tap I have is for the return line in the block.
