So what are some of the strange mishap moments that come to mind when thinking about times had in your TR's? I'll start with one from each of mine.....

I knew i shouldn't take my tutone blue 84 T coupe out in falling snow, but the roads by the house weren't bad so I headed to a friend's house. As I went down the county road that way, the unplowed 1"+ of snow suddenly iced in a spot and she swapped ends! So now I'm going backward at an angle to the road at over 50mph thru a farmyard! I look in the rearview and am headed straight for the utility pole that feeds his barn:eek: and strange enough, when I turned the wheel I drove right around the pole!:D SO, I cranked the wheel, spun it to head toward the road again and kept going. PWHEW...! Heart in throat moment for sure.

Once while driving from one local town to another in my black over pewter 83 T, a new Taurus SHO came up behind me. He came around at over 90 by my guess, then slowed right ahead of me, so I took up with him. Well there's no way to put the T-Tops back in at speed so, well... A few miles down the road, and Well in excess of the 85mph speedo I figured I could take him and pulled out for the pass. It was then I discovered the rusted A-piller header as my windshield snapped from center cowl to both upper sides under the full force of the wind:eek::(

What've you got?

There's way too many to list, cam boring into block, 2 trans pumps................................................ and the list goes on:eek:

I drove my car to work and didnt notice anything wrong so i went inside. After about an hour i figured i would go get my guys some breakfast because we were slow that morning. I go back out to the car and smell gas...very strong. I look under the car and there is a steady stream of gas flowing right beside my exhaust pipe. So i had to make a judgement call. I took the car up to the wifes work (about 500 yards away) and picked up her truck
found out that the lines to the tank had finally rusted out.

A couple off the top of my head....

Several years back I let my bud drive my car. He was all nervous and granny driving it. I told him to give it a lil gas.. He did and the car started bucking and crap. It was teh MAF sensor. I had been kicking it all the way to the to dealership where he worked to meet up for lunch with no issue. He felt bad and felt like he broke it. He now knows that any TR owner worth his salt keeps a spare MAF in the car...LOL

Another sensor story....
When I lived in Miami was up at Tower Shops in FT. Lauderdale and locked horns with a V8 Swap Ford Ranger. We went from a dig and at the top of third the SES light came on. I stayed in it and won turned out it was teh ATS sensor wasnt all teh way plugged in and popped out. Always keep a list of codes and a paper clip in teh car as well.

Weird boost leak I found

Pulled teh rocker shafts and psi'd the intake form the compressor inlet forward and discovered that the uppipe would seal until 18ish psi the start to leak then seal back around 15 psi.
