I finally have my car on the road!! But since I'm in SoCal, I need to get smogged. The prior owner passed smog so I think I'll be ok. However, with an estimated 176K on the odo and having found nearly everything on the car was original (as in- never changed), I was wondering about the o2 sensor. I have a new OEM one as well as a heated one. Will there be a big difference if I put one or the other? Just curious...

Heated o2's are only for when the engine is started up. Once the engine is hot and has been running for a while they should both operate the same. At least this is my understanding.

You'll be fine with the heated O2; I haven't had a non-heated O2 sensor on my car in years and haven't had a problem passing smog even with a "slightly larger" combo. Hope this helps!
