If I do that some MORON will say .. hey its not new because you cleaned all the cosmoline that GM put on it off .. then it won't be OEM

I just can't believe some people

Here is one off a 7.5 Mile GN that went on to be a GNX with the GNX to be sequence still on it ... Doesn't look any different... so Yeah Like New

Hello turbo89 & m233 roller (Hi Mike), you are absolutely right how they came from GM like that - if you were lucky it had the cosmoline protective oil on it to keep it from rusting but they were a 'BIN' item - in other words the guy made them at the plant maybe deebured a couple of the rough spot welds from the bubble gum type welding joints and then through it in a metal bin with the other 100 he did that day. I think I bought over four NOS turbo heat shields over 10 years ago till I found one that would meet my picky criteria and sold the other three. Even NOS 4 GN had them back then for sale but they warned you that it was AS IS and no returns if it was scratched up or 'tough' looking. I saw one in a GM box with the correct part # on e-bay about 8 years ago and the label was date coded June 1989 so my guess was it was for a TTA (same part # and part) and the buy it now then was $650.00!

Bump for a nice turbo heat shield! :-)

Turbo89 seems to be the guy every one likes to mess with Lol

Yea .. typically its the ones that dont know any better or that havent been around the Buick scene for 30 years .. the others are just guys that dont have anything better to do than stir things up and ruin peoples threads

I paid almost $100 for mine and it wasn't even close to original as yours.
It was cut for bigger downpipe which is fine doesn't bother me a little rusty had a grin on it for a little while and paint it
