I have had a deal working on this motor for almost six months. I quickly recieved the deposit from the buyer so I was never worried about him not completing the deal. He is a very nice guy and has kept in constant contact with me up to this point, but now he seems to be backing out due to lack of finances.
We shortblocked the motor for him after having it extensively checked over and having everything miked, magged, and checked for balance by both my machinist and the crank grinder he uses. I have our time costs in the shortblock labor and additional expenses in having everything checked over so closely.
At this point, I would just like to move it to get on with my other projects.
I will take $4000 plus shipping as it sits assembled as a complete shortblock. This is getting down into the price neighborhood of what some max-effort stock block setups will bring.
