I have installed a couple of oil pumps w/no leaks. I put on a High volume TA oil pump and a booster plate and now
oil is pouring out from between the plates on the oil pump! Did I maybe use the wrong gasket in the wrong place?
Or not torque the bolts ? Got any thoughts on this issue?
There is a very long story why I did this install, but I would like to make this thing work! Help please!

Yes, I agree with that, but the plates are the same and did not leak before. It is not leaking at the booster plate, so what changed?
I am still puzzled? Thanks for the reply. I appreciate the input though!

What type of gasket did you use between the booster plate and oil pump housing?
I heard that the paper gaskets are the best. Some have apparently had problems getting the mylar gaskets to seal .

I used the paper gaskets that TS sent with the pump, I figured they knew what worked.

Thanks for the input guys! I talked with TA and I checked bolt length before installation per the instructions.
I didn't torque the bolts because I only have 1/2" torque wrench and in the car, there is not room to swing it,
so it is off to buy a 1/4" one and check the flateness of the mating parts and lastly I am going to use
a skim coat of RTV and put the thing back together again!

X2!!! If you use ANY kind of sealant, you'll be doing the job again.

Soak the PAPER gasket in oil, let it swell a little, then install it.

If you did my oil mods, make sure to match port the oil hole first.

I hear you on the RTV, but just a question why it would cause problems?
I have never run into a problem with RTV before and it was recommended
to me to use it on this problem by a very knowledgeable old time mechanic
who has done a lot of work for me in the past.

RTV silicone,or any other gasket dressing used with a gasket,is what you use to seal two surfaces that aren't flat. In this case, all surfaces must be flat because of the oil pressure and can easily be made flat. If your oil pump didn't leak, without sealant before you added a plate, the part of your front cover that the oil pump cover mates up to is flat. All you have to do now is make the plate flat on both sides.

Buy the gasket assortment that TA sells to get your clearances just right.

Do it. That way you can see with your own two eyes.

It doesn't cost anything to do it twice.
