Hi, guys. I need some opinions here about my installation of my mechanical oil pressure gauge in my '87 Grand National. I know that I can put a "T" fitting in the brass block that sticks out the side in the lower front of the engine bottom. The other line runs to the turbo (feed line) My question is, do I need to put the oil sensor back into the system, the one that has the wires running from it? (Brown/white, forgot the other color) Doesn't the ECM read this oil pressure sensor in order to keep the engine running and not trigger the Check Engine Light? Would it be safe just to leave this sensor out and just put the fitting for the mechanical oil pressure gauge? Or do I need to still fit the oil pressure sensor AND the oil pressure gauge fitting into this brass block to avoid any future problems? I have two extra brass blocks and other brass fittings to fool around with, but my worry is finding room for all of these adaptors.:frown: Could I just get away with putting just the fitting for the oil pressure gauge? The gauges are by Auto Meter. Water and oil pressure, both mechanical. I've been pondering over this problem about different fittings, and would love to have some input from the ones here who have done it. Nothing speaks better than those with experience. I don't want to screw up the computer. I already put the water temp sensor in it's proper place, just to the left of the thermostat housing facing forwards. (pass side) All I have to do to get to this brass block is remove the lower radiator hose, right? Yes, yes, I know I'll have to drain the radiator, but set me straight here. I would very much appreciate it, fellas.
