What do you guys think about sending my oil return line from the turbo into the DS valve cover ?

I want to tap it or weld a bung in it and have it feed into the valve cover. Tried the oil pan but cant get a spot high enough on the pan to be above the oil level in the pan.

Any thoughts ?

Seems like a good idea to me. I know what a pain it can be to tap into the pan. I don't think it would be any worse than dumping the hot directly oil on the lifters like the 86-87 setup.

Thanks - well see the thing is I have an 85 converted to 87 style intake. I have a plenum / doghouse (its a modded 85 intake) and the turbo return oil line goes into a rubber grommet into the top of the rear of the intake.

Damn grommet leaks - just enough to leave you a few drops on the floor.
Thats why I wanted to install the stainless line and fix it to the pan in the first place - that didnt work however.

I guess in the absence of fixing it to the valve cover - I will have to get it back to the original spot - on the intake.

I was thinking of poping out the rubber grommet and trying to JB Weld or silicone (Ya think?) some type fitting over the hole in the intake that I can thread the NPT fitting at the end of the return line into. Leak proof.

I will have to shorten the line and reinstall the threaded end first of course.
