I was just reading an article in Hotrod and it said one of the most things to forget is to put in the oil plugs. After reading this I thought OHHHHH NOOOOOOO!!!!! I put the engine together myself and did not install them. I put in the freeze plugs and and two small plugs left and could not find a place for them. I am hoping the machine shop put new ones in......Does anyone know where they are located and what the symptoms would be if they were not in. At idle when it is warmed up I get about 15-20 lbs and over 80 on acceleration. CAN ANYBODY HELP?????

I believe they were talking about a small block chevy motor or a ford motor or something, right??? I have never dug into a ford or chevy, but one of them has some oil plugs needed somewhere or else they will hemorrage oil and pressure...

The only oil plugs on the Buick V6 are 2 pipe plugs at the back on the ends of the lifter galleys and 2 plugs that look like freeze plugs in the front at the other end of the lifter galleys...The ones in the front will be hidden by the cam after eveything is assembled and you would probably be hard-pressed to get oil pressure at all if they were left out...

plugs

If just 1 of the 4 plugs FJM568 mentioned was left out you would not have ANY oil pressure. Now you feel much better--right?

Thank you VERY MUCH!!!! I do feel soooooo much better because I am not into ripping back into my motor. You guys are absolutly sure right? What is a normal idle oil pressure?

You said you are getting 15-20 at idle warmed up...That is very good oil pressure...Anything over 10 at idle is considered fine and 60+ at WOT...
