I know there is oil pressure feeding the turbo but is there any oil pressure exiting the turbo? It looks like it just gravity feeds back into the engine. The reason I am wandering is that I have seen a few guys relocate the turbo on the hot air cars into a location that it would be difficult for the oil exiting the turbo to gravity feed back into the engine. If there were exiting oil pressure it would make it easier to pipe it to a more convinient location. Is there enough oil pressure going to the turbo to split it and use it for a twin turbo set up? Just wandering.
Thanks

Thanks

im sure it sprays a little, not that much though

to split the original feed line? sounds like a bad idea. i would use a braided stainless line (well.. i already have one) thats a little bigger than the stock line to feed two turbos.

if you have the money to twin turbo your car you have the money to modify the oil pan or the front cover and put in a boss for an oil return line..

oil pressure at turbo drain

I have no way to measure it, but my guess is that there is little if any oil pressure at the turbo drain, the reason being that the diameter of the drain is several times larger than that of the feed line, and the oil just sort of bleeds out and down the drain tube.

As far as splitting the feed line to feed twin turbos, I suspect that is possible to do with some hardware fittings, although you might need a booster plate or something to feed the both of them, I am not sure quite how the twin turbo guys do it. Just my take on that question.

Is your twin turbo set up on a hot air car? Can you post some pics of your set up?

Based on Nick's pictures in the other thread, I believe he means he just replaced the single hard feed line with a braided line, it has a single turbo.
