I'm going mechanical
I have no idea how hi oil pressure goes
How is your mechanical gauge tubing run ?
Im looking at running the cooper tubing along the trans lines but not sure ,theirs a lot of hot exhaust on that side
Cold oil pressure can get up to 80psi. I am using a nylon line for mine. I took out the oil pressure switch in the T that feeds the turbo and put in a compression fitting. I ran the line straight up from that location and then along the metal water line on the passenger side of the intake. From there it goes along the fire wall, through the speedometer gromet and to the gauge that I haven under the radio. I use a VDO gauge.
I don't see 80 psi-usually around 70. I screwed In a street T where the oil pressure switch originally was. I then screwed the pressure switch into one of the T branches and the compression fitting for the gauge in the other branch. All of my gauges wiring go through the speedo grommet. I have an electric water temp gauge, volt gsuge, air fuel gauge (junk), and a 30psi boost gauge.
Try to use the copper tubing for the oil pressure gauge....with nylon tubing there's always the risk of melting, as it's hot under the hood of these Turbo Buicks.....copper can take the high heat and stays in the shape you bend it. I switched from nylon to copper, no worries of melting if near a high heat source.
