two passes o2's in the 782-820 range , Boost 18-19psi , 40 psi line off , Jim Testa alky chip . Pump Speed - Full , Turn on Point 14-15 . 00 Knock , Sunnoco 94 :) .

At IDLE - A/F-6 , INT 121 , blm's 116 , IAC 21 , TPS 42 .

** Any Suggestions**

Thanks !

Yeah... MORE BOOST! You should have no problem running at least 21-22psi with that set up. Do you have a dual nozzle or single? I run/ran the dual nozzles on all my cars. Seems like the way to go for your combo.

single nozzle . I was thinking adding a pound or two more fuel and then turn the boost up a bit more ?????? Thanks.

You've got the right idea. "Sneak up" on the boost! I got real greedy real quick on my WE4 and lunched a headgasket... at 28 psi! Gee, like that was MY fault?!

Jay

Yes! Listen to Jay  It wasn't his fault the gasket went. He was "only" running 28 lbs after all.:p

You get that fixed yet?

Why would you add fuel? As boost increases fuel increases so it takes care of itself. Dont change two things at once

Not fixed yet, Jebadias... winter project, you know how it goes! How's the GN running? You missed a few things in your sig! (just copy that part of mine! ;)) Actually since I "lunched" a crank bearing on my T-Type, I may pirate some goodies off it for the WE4... we'll see.

Bob, actually... if you rely on the boost to do the fuel "adding", you really don't get any additional fuel through the injector. The "delta" or "static" pressure remains the same. I'm sure you know this, but... think of it this way: raise the boost 1 psi and yes, the fuel pressure gauge will read 1 psi higher, BUT, there is 1 additional psi of boost in the manifold runners trying to "push" the fuel back out through the injector. If KWIKR was using an extender chip with his Translator, and hadn't yet maxed out his MAF readings, then you would be correct, as the ECM would "see" the increase in airflow be able to add more fuel based on sensor readings. I'm guessing he's maxing out at 255 gps now though, so that means more pressure = more fuel. Besides, I feel it is better to add more fuel during initial tweaking, then back it out later if you safely can.

I agree :) . better to be a little rich and then lean it out a little at a time with boost. With the 02's in the 780-820 range . that's pretty close to bang on at that boost level for the street . If I was to add another 3-4 pounds of boost without adding a little more fuel. that would most likely cause a lean condition in the top . And we all know what that can do :D.

My point was you do not change two things at once, thats all. I would go up in 1 # increments on boost, and if O2's drop then maybe add fuel. 820 is really too rich already. No big deal

Bob: I hope I didn't come across as condescending. And, you are very right: changing one thing at a time is the best way to judge your gains or lack of.

It's running pretty good, Jay. I figured out what was causing the knock, and got that fixed. Now it's time to bump up the boost. I hope to get some time to do that this weekend.

Does this sig meet your approval;)
