Are all 3rd gear switches the same on 200-4r valve bodies. The little tab that my wire connects to came off tonight and i have an extra valve body here. the switches look a little different though. My old one is just like any other BRF switch and the other one is a bit bigger and takes an oil pressure sending unit socket to get off. The connection is the same and im just wondering if it is ok to use this switch? The valve body is from a late 80s chevy police car i believe. There is a yellow code stamped on it that looks like C16 but its kinda messy. The other number on it is 9017 D-8. Not sure if this helps at all but thanks guys

I don't know your answer, but I do know how to figure it out... If your ohm meter shows that both switches are the same (either normally open: no continuity, or normally closed: about zero ohms) and the replacement physically fits, then you are in business.

thanks man, i couldn't find the ohm meter earlier but later did and it was the same. Thanks man
