One more reason T's are better than GN's

Our parts are cheaper.

I was looking in the computer at Advance Auto today. Just browsing around, really and when I pulled up air conditioning compressors it listed 2 part numbers. The application for one was V-6,231 turbocharged, Limited,T-type for about $128.00. The other one listed the only application as Grand National and was @ $208.00.

I'm not sure but do you think the aftermarket has caught on and is just trying to make a buck off of the unaware because the GN is so special?

I would assume so since he said "I was looking in the computer at Advance Auto today" which would make me think he was doing the searching.

Why would they have a different price for the same part, perhaps listed higher for the GN.... Huh, never thought of it that way.

Years ago my brother-in-law had a 76 Stingray Vette. He told me about parts being cheaper for the same exact part listed under another car line. But because he asked for a "Corvette" part, it was more expensive. Might be true now for TR's. Donno.........

Same list pops up no matter if you choose GN or Limited...One is new from "factory air" other is a reman from "factory air"

No, the listings were the remans. The new compressors had the same listing with the new Limited number @ $200+ and the new GN was $300+. They also showed no picture of the GN only part numbers. Maybe to keep someone from comparing? The reman T was a stock item and the GN was a warehouse only order item. The only reason I can see for a price difference is if the GN listing were the right casting numbers to actually be reman GN(LC2) compressors for the concours correct restoration instead of the "used on everything cause it all fits" remans which originally came on a Caprice but was rebuilt/clocked to bolt to a turbo bracket ones. It did not indicate this in the description.

P.S. This was the '87 listing and it was the Electronic Parts Catalog computer at the counter for sales and not the partsamerica website.
