Hopefully not too dumb of a question..but here goes. My car is being stripped and repainted this winter (should take about 3 months according to the guy doing it) I am using this downtime to have the heads done and intake ported to match. What should I do to protect the engine while all this is going on?? Any suggestions are appreciated. Chris

I know this might sound a little drastic, but pull the motor and trans. Keeps prying eyes and fingers from walking off with parts that are expensive or non-existant.Saves potentially haveing to pull it after the paint is done due to contamination from bondo, paint, grit, dust Etc.

If I was painting your car I would want it running to be able to move it around. If it wasn't running I wouldn't paint it.
I definitely would not want to put the motor back in after it was painted!!!
Just my opinion after painting several myself.

A good paint shop should have no problems pushing the car around the shop. Heck lots of shops have cars trailered in w/o motors and do all kinds of work on them. They are lighter w/o engine and trannys too. :P
