I'd appreciate some opinions on the following:

I just upgraded the stereo on my WE4 and installed component speakers in the standard Concert II location in the doors. Since component speakers come with both a woofer and a tweeter I must now find a location for the small 1 inch wide tweeter. Problem is, I've tried several temporary locations and the sound is the best when the tweeter is mounted on the plastic portion of each door panel just in front of the power door lock switches. If I'm to permanently mount them there, I'll have to drill some small holes in the panels to run the wires and attach a small screw. Bottom line, do you folks think I'm devaluing my car for future owners by doing this? Once these holes are drilled, they're drilled, period. The stereo system I've installed has an amp in the trunk along with a sub woofer and an aftermarket CD/Receiver. It's a pretty upscale system but I hate to modity anything on my car without first considering its effect on future value. I've never done any mods which can't be reversed back to stock.

By the way, my car is not a bone stocker. It has the basic recipe mods plus a TA49 and CAS V4. Interior has added gauges and an Alchy system. But drilling holes in the door panels? What do you guys think? To drill or not to drill. That is the question. Thanks for your opinions.

Personally, i wouldn't do it. If you plan on keeping the car forever (who can ever be sure), then maybe you should since it is your car and will make you happy.

Otherwise, i'd try to put them somewhere else or try to score an extra set of door panels..

That is exactly where I put my JBL titanium tweeters with my component set.

Only part of the speaker install that is visible.

I drilled the hole too, actually prolly used the soldering iron.

Anyway I don't overly regret it now for that car, my steady driver for 8 years now since I did it.

I won't do it on the GN.

Hope that helps ya a little. It will devalue the car as a stocker for sure.

Sound is rather good but not perfect at that spot. Legs block the cross sound a bit. Not normally a problem as I only take skinny passengers. ;)
