Been awhile since I took the Buick out for a track event, but this past weekend I did. Optima Ultimate Street Car at Summit Point Motorsport Park in West Virginia. We got two sessions on the main track. Our third got cancelled due to lightening.
But here we go, a 1:34. I was expecting a 1:31 if we'd gotten to go out again, but it didn't happen. I'll have to see if I can go back. This track was a lot of fun. Check out the top speed at the end of the front straight, it's just a couple MPH lower than what I hit at Road America. And the G-loads in the turns are pretty staggering for this old wreck.
There was also, for the first time, other G-Bodies at the event. Another GN, which sadly had a suspension failure on Saturday, and a beautiful LS swapped Monte SS with all the UMI fun parts. I'm happy to report I edged him out.
