Orig driveline documentation

I had a GN new but whoever looked. Now I'm thinking of buying one back. Where are the body vin #s stamped on the block and trans? Or how do you tell if it's an orig driveline?

The engine is on the LH side (driver's) on the side of the bellhousing flange. Below the head and behind the dipstick.
Transmission is in the rear on the side just above the pan rail. I can't remember if it's the RH or LH side.

Is the complete vin there or a partial with other info?

It's on the left side towards the rear of the trans.
