Over Revving, Slipping Trans?

I have been having some problems and someone suggested it may be a governor spring and I was hoping others could shed some light.

At partial throttle everything seems to shift and run correctly, but when I get on it, it seems that the 1-2 shift is slipping and the revs go way high and starts to break up.

Any ideas?

I need some help guys. Am I an idiot for not being able to figure this out? Am I way off, anything? I don't even know where to look.

sounds like the band is barbqed.install a pressure gage.

Thank you! How do I put on a pressure gauge? And what should the pressure be?
