My clutch was going south on my Cuda Monday so I order a new Zoom HP clutch and pressure plate/bearings and have the flywheel turned. Everything looked good and started to put it back together last night. Well every thing was great. The splines lined right up but the shaft will not go into the pilot bushing. The bolts didn't reach the bellhousing so we tore the garage apart trying to find longer bolts. No luck. Now it's midnight and this should have been done by 10pm. So tonight we will be armed with longer bolts and walk the tranny to the bellhousing. Hopefully we don't break the tabs on the aluminum bellhousing. But we all know whats gonna happen.....
Oh and I am supposed to leave for Lake George at 8:30 Friday morning with it. Looks like I will be taking the GN.

Sure you got the right pilot bushing???? Shouldn't have to force it in. Looks like bad weather for Friday anyway. Do it right and leave Sat morning!

I wouldnt force it, your just asking for something to go wrong. I would take it back out and double check everything. If the pilot bearing is to tight I dont think your gonna be able to shift it, or its going to grind like no tomorrow.

Who knows if the bearing is right. It came with the kit. We should have measured the shaft and then the bushing. I called a few auto parts stores and found another bushing. So if it is the wrong one I can get the right one. It looks like all the A833 trannys used this one bushing. At least I have some backup cars to take. Also looked at the forecast. Rain until Sat morning. This sucks already and I havn't even been in the car yet.
