I may be aquiring an '84 t-type from my uncle however it has been sitting for three years, it has no dents but the fenders and trunk lid have alot of surface rust thats not all the way through the paint, also it needs weatherstripping basically everywhere, how much approximatley am i looking at for paint/rust removal? and how much for the weatherstripping? also what is a reputable online parts store for t-types.

thanks for your info.

Nick would depend on what kind of job you are willing to pay for.

For example.I just did a white Limited.Had all glass removed.

Relapced both doors to save labor. And trunk.

Car was taken to bare metal.Because it had a cheap paint job before.

Also found 2 rusted through spots.Under Stainless trim.
Weldedd new metal in.

Replced all rubber.from Postons and Year one. That alone was about 200 dollars or so.

Another route for you would be to sand car down your self.
Have any rusted out pieces replaced.Tape it your self.Go to Maaco. What color is this car.If black I would save and do it right.

Hope this helps. Price can range from 5,000, down to around a 1,000 bucks....HTH'ed.

A high-quality paint job alone will run upwards of 1500 and that's with no major bodywork. Probably double if you want it stripped bare. As far as parts, Poston is about the only source for hot-air performance parts, for the basics either Kirban or John's Performance are my favorites.
