After 17 years, the paint on my spoiler is getting kind of hazy.

Is there any kind of stripper to remove the old paint, but not melt the fiberglass?

I've been sanding it to remove the paint, but it's really slow/tedious.

Also, is there some type of sealer I should use on it after it's primed, or can I just go right to a base coat and clear?

Thanks.

Pete

I wouldn't use any chemical stripper, odds of it seeping into the fiberglass are too great. Don't know that you HAVE to use anything under the color coat but I always have.

just sand it till its smoothe all over and scratched up good with 500 grit you dont need to strip it. Then base it and clear it you dont need to seal it you can if you want but no need to.

The only time that a sealer should be used. Is if you have sanded to the fiberglass. Then only in those places.

I sanded mine all the way down and it looks like ABS or something not fiberglass.
