Im looking to repaint the black part of the rims on my stockers. i just used the rustoleum satin black for all of my trim and it looks amazing. WOuld that stuff work ont he rims as well? if not, what do i use?? should i just go ahead and spray the rims, or do i have to prep them in any way??

I did this to my 4 it is time consuming but the results are real nice. By the last rim I was going nuts from taping off all the squares but it's not to hard. I used some mineral sprits to prep the rim. You need to get the wax and dirt and anything else that might have gotten on the rim over the years. I used gloss black only because I wanted them to shine with the chrome. Then Brian Weaver came out with the rechrome rims. Well the black area's need to be painted on these as well so when I told a friend he told me about Eastwood. They sell a paint just for rims! It's satin but it's the correct color and style paint they use on all the black rim cars. Here is a link to it.. Rim Paint I didn't use it yet but it looks awesome. I sprayed a little and the shade is real sweet looking. Here is what mine look like now... Rim Now So there is what gloss would look like. That was one of my old rims. Hard to tell but the chrome around the ring was shot. I think it was on the top of the rim for this picture. Anyway it's almost a color and sheen at what you like personally. I'll post some pictures when I get the new rims done with the Eastwood paint. Good Luck and let us know how you make out!

where can i get the eastwood paint and is it in spray cans?? anywhere around philly to get it???

Click the RIM PAINT link on my first post. Will take you right to their site. Was on my door step in 3 days.

Thanks for the info, I'm about to do the same. I hate taping things off, so I think I will pay my son to do it.
