paper clip trick

This is porbably covered in here somewhere, but I will ask anyway. THe paper clip lockout trick...what is it(detailed) and what does it do? Is it just a way to lock out the convertor? Looking for all hte extra I can get for little$$$ right now. many expensive irons in the fire.

It locks the converter once you hit second gear. I thought about doing this but came up with a better idea. I ran a wire from a switch in the ashtray and spliced into the wire that controls lockup. That way, you don't have to reach down and unlock it when you are through the quarter. The other end of the switch goes to ground which should be easy to find.
