Does any one have a list of backets and parts to move the turbo like the 86-87 , i will be doing it no matter what in the winter and need a list. i will also be using the v2 intake if i can , if not it will be sold. Is there any power gains from this, maybe from the bigger down pipe and way its ran.

thanks for any help

Thats what I did.....

You will not be able to use the TM manifold as it wont fit with the 86/7 accessories.

partial list of what you will need:

86/7 wiring harness
crank and water pump pullys
Front Accesory bracket
turbo mounting bracket
Alternator
Power steering pump
Power steering resovouire
Belt tensioner
headers
DP
intake
sensors in intake (egr stuff, water temp, etc)
fuel rail
fuel feed line
fuel filter setup (I got lucky and found adapters to adapt a stock filter back by the pump)
IC
coil pack bracket (to intake)
water tube to heater hoses if you still have a heater
ac compressor
ac lines
Oil feed
oil return line (may have to fab somthing up if you have a 84/5 block
fan
upper radiator support \
radiator sort of optional
tranny cooler lines /
upper radiator hose
heater hoses
positive battery cable
tranny dipstick tube
oil dipstic tube (optional)
maf hose
all bolts

plus there is more i'm forgetting I bet.

It's alot of work. Its almost easier to find a wrecked 86/7 to pull all the parts off of. Either that or your going to be making alot of deals with Bweavy and/or Mike McCoy :)

I'm not sure why you are having such problems with your TM setup. Mine worked like a charm but I wanted to go faster. It hasnt been as easy to run the car. The TM setup was point and shoot, liked the 02's down in the 710-720 range

So far with the 70 turbo and a stretch IC on the 86/7 setup it has gone 92mph in the 1/8 at 17psi.

Thanks this is a lot of help that i'll write done, I do have the 85 block, what about the heads will they work , do they need to be taped for the brakets.

thanks bud:)

the heads are the same, everything but the oil return will bolt up.

the 86/7 oil return goes to the front of the block, which you can drill and tap or just run a line down to the pan instead. both will require some work :D

Good Luck :)

don't worrie about the oil return it's as easy as buying a drill bit and tap and putting the hole in the same place as the 86 -87 car and the great thing about it you don't have to pull the engine.Just remove the intake ac and everything that might get in the way and drill away.Don't forget to put a towel or something to catch all those metal shaving for getting in the engine. If you need to purchase all the stuff to do it give me a ring.334-271-2278 ask for Demetrius.

Thanks , i might pull most of the stuff off the front any way because then i can go with a bigger cam to.

thanks

why with the 86/7 setup?

Hey crazygn, why are you going to go with the 86/7 setup? You have a lot of great parts on there. The TM kit should out perform an 86/7 car with no probs.I plan on having my car with the tm kit run 12teens. But TType85 is right. It would probably be easier to find a complete 86/7 motor to get the job done. If you are planning on selling any of your hotair parts, let me know, i can always use spare parts. As for me, I will always keep my car hotair "intercooled" :)

A few things really , one is that i really like the looks of the 86-87 setup and all the chorme parts to make it look real nice . The other is the better down pipes , and it seems its easy to get the power from the way they are set up. They look to be so much easyer to work on to , easy to get to the top end. And one more, come winter i will be going with a 70 turbo and i dont think it will fit.:D

If i had a stall and some 11'sec times with this motor i might be happy and stay , we will see.
