Hi, I just listed some very different Hot Air parts on Ebay. Lee Thompson helped me with these a while back. Take a look if you have the time. Just do a search under Buick Turbo and you'll see them. Oh, I listed them on Ebay instead of here because of the pictures and the method of payment options. Also I have a SMC Alky kit for sale that has a modification for Hot Air cars. Email me if you have any questions.

Regards,

Bob

Thanks, the Intake is pretty nice. Lee Thompson and I talked about doing this several years ago. I would still have it on my GN except it dropped a valve (Comp keeper failed) and I'm going to put a stock 87 motor in it and sell it. Not that I'm getting away from Buicks. I put a Stage II in a Kit Cobra and am going to concentrate on ONE car only.

Thanks again,

Bob

hey bob..i have a question on that intake...which looks very nice i must say...i see you blocked the egr...is that the way you ran it with no egr...tell me a little more on how it ran and your combo..thanks vinny

Vinny

Your right I had the EGR permanently blocked off. As far as how it ran I can only say that with my Cobra project going on the Buick took the back seat but I can compare the two cars on acceleration based on the Cobra's ability to run 10.8 @ 123. IMO, while the Buick was completely unable to launch like the Cobra it seemed to pull harder once underway. The reason for the not so great launch was as soon as it started to boost the brakes simply couldn't hold it. I never got around to putting on the S10 wheel cylinders.

Another examply is the same M/T slicks that the Cobra uses would break loose at the top of 1st gear as the boost started to come on. Boost at around 20psi with Alky. The combination that I used with intake was GN1 heads, Te61 Turbo, Large (for an 84/85) Throttle body, BGC Headers 3" downpipe, exhaust, Ultra flow muffler. I'm selling the entire setup. It would be good for someone to buy the combination but it can be duplicated in a lot of ways. I don't have the GN1's for sale yet but will put them on the board soon.

Lee Thompson, as I said, had helped me in many ways and is truly a great guy.

Bob

whats up bob..sounds to me like it was pretty strong:D ...so you didnt have any knock or pinging issues with out the egr...or did you not drive it on the street...does that intake still have the passages for the egr to be used or is it totaly gutted...i am also trying to put together a setup with using the 87 intercooler and no more than a ta49 turbo...with keeping the egr..so this is why i ask..thanks again vinny

Revision to vinny

"The manifold is completely opened up."

VINNY: SORRY ABOUT THE ABOVE. ITS WRONG. THE INTAKE STILL HAS THE PASSAGES I GUESS WHAT I WAS THINKING ABOUT WAS THE GN1 HEADS DON'T.

I didn't have any knock problems as I used an SMC Alcohol Inj. system. I'm going to sell it also as I have no use for it on the Cobra.

Yes it is street car.

Its a VERY clean 84 with a completely redone Lear/Sigler interior. Shortly it will have a stock 87 motor and trans in it.

Regards,

Bob
