kinda reminds me of the turbo T i say today at a local dealer, high miles close to 100k,water behind the passenger seat, leaking oil from everwhere, paint pretty much gone, sagging roof ceiling, single exaust that was falling apart from the rust, when i asked him how much is reply was $13,000.00 firm, maybe i should rethink about selling my T for 10.5k OBO and put a 16k price on it, what do you all think.. ;)

If I owned the car, that's how much I'd want... They aren't being made anymore fellers. This is the equivelent of the Buick Shelby or Copo or Hemi Buick. Not only that it's more rare than most of those cars...

I would buy it for low 30's. Mileage really doesnt matter to me since I would probably put ten thousand miles on it in the first three months of ownership.

You could put 100,000 miles on that car, and as long as you kept it nice, you could still sell it for that price in ten years. And with that list of mods, they would be very, very fun miles. It can always be put back to stock, and once a car has been restored, the only thing that matters is the quality of the resto. It won't ever bring as much as a 200 mile dust collector, but it's still gonna keep going up and it can be enjoyed a hell of a lot more. If I had 38k to blow on a car I would buy it. And no, I don't smoke crack.

Kinda funny to me---my dad bought an 9k mile GNX about 2 years ago for 33k-----i was doubting myself then for saying--"ya"----go for it----pretty good investment now that i look at it----i hope they keep going in the same direction!!!

Geoff

ps.--it's one of the cars in the sig:cool:

I think it's pretty apparent that the GNX and GN market for that matter is a "little" stronger now than in the past couple of years.

Great for sellers, dig deeper buyers.

FWIW & IMHO:
Not to start a flame war here, but I would not put $ 30K on that car, let alone $ 38K. The largest market jump over the last couple of years seems to be for Museum or pristine quality and condition virtually no or low mileage vehicles. It's true that higher mileage cars are increasing in value also, but not at quite the same rate. Maybe this is just my opinion, but a rebuilt/refurbished vehicle will never bring the same as a extremely low mileage pristine condition car. And I think that the cost of a nice restoration, even with some of the work being done by the owner exceeds the value increase of the cars themselves. This seems to be a bear market for car buffs, and cars will always be worth some, but the increase in values year to year or over the last couple of years may not always be the same.
