Hey I know alot of U guys don't have to worry about this for now, but w the new administration, I understand that they may make all of the states as rigid as CA on Smog testing. And our cars, along w the GN, have been identified as "Gross polluters", so Big Brother is watching us.

I keep barely passing, and each time I have to go to a new tester, I guess because the state keeps the pressure on the testing outfits. So, it hangs over me for a few months ever other year. I have a few tricks that I have to do every time to get it to pass in case U guys need to know.

I barely pass as well.

Send me a PM and we'll trade tricks. I am trying a new one this winter.......which might eliminate my worries:biggrin:

That's interesting because here in Massachusetts (as far as I know) they use California emission standards and last October they decided to stop emission testing 1995 or older vehicles. Basically anything OBD1 is exempt now so maybe there's hope for you guys?

obd1 us exempt here too ... but you still have to have working smog devices on your car (if they came with them stock) ---

I barely pass every two years myself and also have to do a few tricks.

I hope they do the same regarding the OBD I exemption in RI.

I got my car to pass right away by putting in an emissions chip, cat, and turning down the fuel pressure so far that the computer couldn't compensate, and had just enough pressure to run on the dyno. I failed 2 tests before I tried this.
