pc sound help

I'm using a pc at work that didn't have speakers until now.....I've got them plugged in but no sound...what should I do next...

Make sure they are plugged into the right port..many PC's still come with a powered and an unpowered audio out...Also, if ya dont have the lil speaker icon next to the clock, check audio properties to be sure that "wave" is not muted..
