Is this bank any good now that they are owned by capital one?
Thanks
Steve Chambers

I'm pretty happy with them. I just financed my Durango with them about 3 months ago. It took less than 10 minutes to set everything up, I got a very good rate, and a blank check arrived at my house next day that I took to the dealer to buy the truck with.

It was good even before it was owned by Capital One! Ive used them and have had no problems.

I won't use them again. I sent those turkeys 3 months extra payments marked INTEREST ONLY and they applied to the interest on the loan. After Capital One took over I think they are COOKS.

Reginald, if you marked it INTEREST only why are you upset they applied it to the interest?

I currently have my GN financed with them. When I got the loan they were peoplefirst but I have had dealings with them since they turned to CapitalOne and I was pleased. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an easy transaction.

I gotcha now. I wasn't trying to be a wise guy. I would be pissed if they did that to me too.

I've used them several times and once (the GN) since Capital One took over. The only difference I noticed was less paperwork now the Cap One has it.

Ok......

But now what about buying a car out of state? I heard it is virtually impossible to do so, due to having the notary and such.
Thanks
Steve Chambers

I bought a car from KY here in GA. Didn't change anything really. You would just have to go to a notary wherever you do the deal.
The main thing is that EVERYONE that is listed on the title needs to be present at signing unless the names are separated by the word OR on the title.

I bought my truck out of state from a small auto dealer (I'm in DE, they were in PA). Like I said, it was very easy. I had a blank check from peoplefirst that I could write out for the max of the loan, once that was done they did all the paperwork, then we went to a notary to get the title signed over. I then went to the DE DMV and got my tags, title, and inspection done.

Easy!

Same deal here.. Bought my dually out of CA from a mom n pop dealer. Sent them the check from PPL First, they did the paperwork, fed ex'ed me the notorized(sp?)/signed title, and I took it to the DMV here in VA to get tags.

Hardest part about the whole thing was finding a shipping company to bring the truck to me and waiting at the DMV for hours like always  .
