Piston movement in bore?

I got my heads off and was looking at how much i can move pistons in bore. I got feeler gauge and can put a .030 maybe .035 gauge between pist/bore. I know this is considered the top ring land area, not the critical skirt area , but man, its kinda scary. Anyone see this as too much?

Pretty much sounds normal. What pistons are you using?

Pistons are CP's...I did look at another engine sitting here (Pontiac 455) with forged trw's and it had alittle less comparable movement.
