First off, I LOVE my Powerlogger. I can't believe I tried to tune of TL for so long. I'm really getting the car dialed in now. One question I have is about the timing readout on my logs. I have Eric's extender G chip for alky and a gen II MAF translator. Everything is setup right as far as I know. I have the default timing on the chip 21 / 19 and the translator is set to command 21 degrees at WOT. Last night I recorded a WOT run and saw that timing was showing as 24 / 22. Is that the correct readout? If so, if I set WOT timing to 18 on the translator I get my 21/19 and that is fine. I just need to verify that what I am seeing is accurate.

Thanks,

Mike

post the log.

check that V out 1 mode is set to spark advance. Check the the MAF range is set to 768, and the IAT spark box is checked on the F3 page.

PowerLogger is reporting the timing correctly.

Check, check, and check.

Log attached. I didn't get into it until frame 875.

As you can see AFR is a bit on the fat side, and that is why I'm not seeing KR with this timing. I'll pull the timing back and play with 11.0, then try 11.2, which was the sweet spot before. Oh, and the TPS voltage is due to my floormat. :p

This chip was burned for alky?, is that why the WOT timing is as high as it is?

I emailed Eric and he replied saying that the chip has a specific timing set and adds 2 degrees for the low gears. When you introduce the Gen 2 Translator things change since it now controls spark. In the low gears the chip will add 2 degrees to whatever I am commanding in the translator. There is an additional .9 to 1 degree in there and Eric stated that other factors can create that. When I was commanding 17 degrees in my translator I was seeing 19.4 / 17.2 for timimg. He said to set timing for what I want it to be in the high gears on the translator. So what I did was set timing on the translator to 19 and ramp down a degree at 5400 and another at 5800. I also pulled 3% fuel in the high load and will log it tonight. I'm shooting for 21 / 19 timing with 11.2 AFR at 22psi.
