someone please help me i dont know what to do anymore, my car one day the injectors stoped firing and my fuel pump wont turn on. i checked the fuse for fp/inj was blown but i changed it and nothing. i got 86/87 ecm and still nothing. what is wrong with my car please help im so frustrated
 
is C16 on the ecm the pin that goes to the battery? the orange wire is hooked up but im thinking it has a short or something cause my problem seems to me like my ecm just isnt turning on... all my grounds are hooked up
 
Make sure each and every wire going into the 2 connectors that plug into the ECM are pushed into the connctors all the way tight.

Start with the orange wire in the connector on the right.

it will run off starter fluid so i know its getting spark but i guess the ecm doesnt even have to be on to make spark, im not getting injector pulse and i think the cam sensor controls that, but why is my fuel pump not turning on? two computers with the exact same problem? seems neither had one to begin with, does the cam sensor also control the spark? i know the crank sensor does, i put it on backwords car wouldnt start and fixed it and started, can i get spark but the cam sensor is still bad?

how would someone else go about this problem? any ideas would be apreciated

im gonna play with a volt meter tomorrow and il check to see if there pushed in good
 
well il be damned there was a small short in the orange wire after all, i fixed it and now the fuel pump is turning on at least, now it turns on and shuts off right away, but while rebuilding it the spark plug wires were sitting in a tub of parts sitting at the bottom with oil and shit so it was backfiring, went to autozone didnt have my plugs but brother in law said to get n/a 3.8 wires, now i went to old plug wires, back to back firing. so now imma get the right wires and i think i got it
 
Sounds like you got it, that fuel pump should run for about 3 seconds when you turn the key on and then shut off till you actually start the car, its just priming and sounds like its doing what its' supposed to do. I wonder what the difference in the wires are, anyone that knows please chime in, I'd like to know why the na wires don't work, although I guess its not an accident that there are seperate part no's for the na and turbo wires.
 
well i forgot to fully tie down the camshaft sensor while playing to figure the problem out and whala it runs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but the only thing i reused in this engine was the lifter bars and im hearing the slightest lifter tick damn it lol, im gonna give it another hundred miles and change the oil to get all the little pieces of steel out and put some slick fifty and see if it goes away. if it doesnt go away should i change those bars asap or just ride it for awhile, i wanna change my cam anyways sometime this spring/summer

edit: the na wires work fine
 
car is not running good with 87 stock chip so im ordering a turbotweak will it fix the way its driving? its driving like it has too much timing
