Hi folks,

Changed the plugs last night and noticed that all plugs had orange deposits (thin powderly layer), but otherwise looked normal. Deposits were even across all cylinders.

I recall that some anti-knock additives can produce an orange-ish dust, but wanted get some input on this.

Note that this is the first plug inspection since installing and running alchy.

Plugs weren't very old (3 months) and probably had about 20 passes on them.

thanks,
Scott

Are you running octane booster Scott? That seems to do it every time. When running pump gas and Alky, my plugs come out with a somewhat grey color on the porcelain.

No, no octane booster-- the only thing I can think of with any dyes in it is the few capfuls of Klotz lubricant I add to the alchy bottle (aside from the anti-knock compound in some gas MMT or something?? that I mention above).

Any more ideas?

I promise that I haven't been using the turbo as a carrot shredder... ;)
