hello; I got a PM on a subject and I did not see any alert to it. There was a ck. mark or something before that alerted you but I see nothing now.
Also I'd like to get rid of the shout box. How can I get it gone?

that only minimizes the shoutbox, it does not get rid of it, or even stop it. For example - it you click on 'Forums' with the Shoutbox minimized, the Shoutbox still has to load first before 'Forums' loads. From 'Forums' if you click on "Engine Tech', the Shoutbox has to load first before 'Engine Tech' loads. Once in 'Engine Tech' and you want to read a thread? You guessed it - Shoutbox has to load first then the thread loads. That Shoutbox is a real system I/O hog. The site is basically unusable while the Shoutbox loads. Sure it is only a few seconds each screen but after awhile just sitting waiting for the Soutbox to load is annoying, I could read a post or 2 in that time. This is just my expeirence from the 4-5 computers I've accessed the site from. I'm sure for some of you the Shoutbox speeds your computer up............that's cool too.

Very top right of the page it says notifications, if you have one a number will show how many.
