Anyone running poly bushings for their transmission mount?

Also are you running poly secondary bushings on your transmission cross member?

I found the energy suspension 3-1109 would replace the secondary bushings on our trans cross member (part number GM 547702 and 547704; 3 of each) but not sure if anyone tried this and can comment on fit and road noice, vibration etc.

For the transmission mount looks like Energy Suspension 3-1108 and or Prothane 7-1604 will fit the TTA but again anyone tried any of them and can comment?

Reason for looking at replacing my OEM setup (all new bushing but stock rubber) is the "twist" and "jump" my engine seems to do when I put it in revers (idle) so thought this might help a bit but any comments on what actually do fit our cars and experience with regards to noice and vibration would be appreciated.

Howdy old pard!

You know me, poly everywhere I can put it, only stoped by what's not made. If you want a luxury car buy a Caddy, if you want a go fast hot rod step up to the 21st century. I know I've told you this before but here it goes again. When I bought 1231 it was on the show room floor. While I was checkin it out a factory tag on the steering wheel caught my eye. The tag said 'Only drive on smooth and flat surfaces', now that's an in your face statement that this car will shake your teeth out and could damage your kidneys. You hip?

Doing good old friend :-)

With you on that one, harsh ride that's for sure ... I got poly everywhere as well (suspension front and rear) as well as a poly torque arm to trans mount.

Do you remember what you used for the transmission mount? And did you replace those secondary transmission "cushions" on the cross member, if so what brand and part number?

Cheers

Que Pasa Jan?

I checked my records soooo! Here's what I did. I got the Spohn tranny mount kit part #307-ps with the double drive shaft loop. When I got mine you had 2 choices, either a poly secondary or a chromoly, I chose the chromoly spherical bearing and I think that's the only option for the pro series now. The cost for the kit which includes tranny mount, tranny mount plate and torque arm with the forward loop and all fastners is $555.00. John Pearcy tried to talk me out of the chromoly bearing but, HEY! I,m Irish. I hope this addresses your qustion, if not, just get back to me but in the mean time, check out the website and under transmissions. Now it's time to return to Margeritervill. HA!:D
