Have about 450 miles on the new drive train now, hooked up the new progressive alky kit over the weekend and thought it was time to see how far I could dial up the boost. 80 degrees and very dry air so I have the windows open.

Testing out on some back roads I could dial up 25# of boost on 93 octane with the new alky kit with only 3-4 degrees of knock retard. Oh Yea I like it!

So coming back to town I hit a red light and a Honda CBR (I'm assuming a 600 because he does not have that monster fat rear tire) pulls up next to me on the four lane.

He has no idea what I am and does not even look over.

He takes off fairly quickly and I leave with him and even pull him by a car. When my back bumper started to go past him he drops down a gear or two and gasses it. His engine screams as I floor the T and it goes back to first under full boost and he pulls even with my door and looks over with this deer in the headlights look like how are you doing this? With full boost now I begin to pull ahead.

Now I have full boost; squeal second and really walk him much faster than I expect.

I hit third and 80 mph when I let off and he is 5-6 car lengths behind when he finally gives up.

It had to have been a 600. A 1000 should have pulled me. I've run high 11's @ 115 mph on pump gas and my old single stage generic SMC alky with 21# boost with the old motor.

Seat of the pants the T feels faster on this new motor, tranny and progressive alky at 25# boost.

Next light he won't look over and we take off easy and I let him slide ahead and turn off at the next block.

I like this progressive alky system.

Good kill but I would dial back the boost until you get rid of the knock. Your on your second motor, don't want to do a third...

Or dial up the Alky.
Or...If needed....adjust the initial and/or max settings in the controller to come in sooner.

What did you O2's look like and at what speed was the KR showing?

Nice kill!!!!:D
Always fun to smack down a 2 wheeler.

I had always thought that 3-4 dgrees of knock retard at shiftpoints was okay. The knock retard stated banging around a couple of degrees as the rpms past 4000 in second and started climbing once it hit third and that is when I shut it down. O2's were in the 770-low 800 range the whole way and the alky was full on with my pump settings to come on at 14# and max at 20#.

You're right I need to dial back to 22-23# boost. I do not want to grenade this motor.

I will install the second #15 nozzle on the alky spray system though and that should solve it.

This motor is built much better than before. I bought the car from a good friend who basically got took when he had it rebuilt in the late 90's by a GN guru here in Florida. He would not lie to me I'm sure and thought he had "all the good stuff" and I believed him. But it was bone stock internally when I tore it down after blowing the head gaskets out of five cylinders and bending a rod when 2nd gear let go at WOT.
I now use a rev limiter!

I spent a small fortune doing it right with documentation to back me up this time.

Now it has a good crank and rods.
JE ultralights with gapless rings.
SS mains.
All APR throughout.
Ported and flowed heads and intake.
Cometic head gaskets.

I did not go with the roller cam though as funds prevented it because I also had to do the tranny along with buying a new turbo.

It has gone 11.18-11.23 on race gas (on the old combo) but I'm itching to break into the 10's on pump gas like some of the board members so that is next on my agenda. And with 121-123 mph through the traps I know that is possible.

Let me take the time to thank all who have been soooo helpful on this board and its vendors.

I had a somewhat similar incident with some bike...now I wished I would have followed to him to find out what it was. I was at a left turn waiting on a green arrow. He was behind me and revving it up to show off to all us "slow cars". I was really hoping to line up next to him at the next light. The bike jumped onto the interstate. So I made a quick exit right behind him. I'm pretty sure at this time he knew I was stalking him since he got on the interstate from behind me and I had to cross a solid white line to follow him.

It was a saturday morning and traffic on the interstate was relatively light but it took us a few minutes to actually have a clear run. Its a 3 lane interstate I was in the far left, bike was in the far right. We were rolling at about 60 mph when I heard him crack down a gear so I put it to the floor. I pulled a few car lengths on him. We ran past the capabilities of my spedo (got to ditch this damn 85 mph deal and the get the 140 mph overlay/recal). I don't know how fast I was going when I let out...faster that I should have been doing in 55...lets just say that. He was slowly closing the gap when I let out of it due to the impending traffic we were running up on. He got up next the T-Type and gave me a thumbs up...felt pretty damn good.

I have to better control my T-Type urges....I drive a 96 escort with less than 90 HP as my daily driver.

nice kill, for sure. Alot of bike owners cannot drive the bikes to the full potential either. But if your turning 125+, a 600 would be right there if driving it right and a little quicker for lack of weight. Good kill
