I used to have a 49 and car ran midd 11's on ported heads. went to a te 60 and can't get enough fuel, car runs lean all the time, I don't have the money for a double pumper so I was wondering if anyone would be interested in trading a te44 for a te60?thanks

I have a TA-49 <2000 miles on it. How long have you ahd the TE60 any shaft play?

BTW, what fuel pump you have I never heard that a double pumper would be necessary for a TE60.

about 200 miles on the te60. I'm not sure why the te60 is requiring so much more fuel, i already have a walboro 340 pump, hot wired, and just put a volt booster on this weekend and still getting o2's in the 680-710 range. So if i decided to trade would you be interested?

Not trying to talk you out of trading.... but the turbo has little to do with how lean your car is running. Provided your pump is good... it will deliver enough fuel to get you to mid 10's..... faster than you are ever likely to see with a TE60. With that said.... you have other problems....

What chip are you running? It seems your combo and/or boost level has changed from the parameters programmed into the chip you are running. I am guessing there isn't enough fuel programmed in the chip.

IMHO, you need to adress the real problem and not postpone/bandaid fix your problem by installing a turbo that makes less power.

Eric Marshall at TurboTweak can likely cure your problem.

Sorry, I was interested but my friend wants to buy my 49. Good luck.

i'm running turbo tweak chips and have never had a problem with him in 3 yrs. I wonder if my fuel pump may not producing like it should?

Is this a PTE or Limit Engineering TE-60?
Just noticed they have very different specs on gnttype.org.
Thanks,
Tim

If he set up your chip for a 49 turbo..... you quite possibly need it to be reprogrammed for more fuel for the 60 turbo.... even if you have the same injectors... His recent chips are adjustable for fuel and timing.... have you adjusted the fuel "in-the-chip"?

It is possible the pump isn't putting out the required pressure out... but the fact that you were running a 49 turbo... and everything was fine.... install the TE60..... and now she leaned out.....sends a huge red flag up if you haven't adjusted the fuel "in-the-chip"... or had it re-programmed...

Do you have a scantool? You should probably update your sig to show your whole combo.... it keeps folks from asking the basic questions trying to diagnose a problem... just my 0.02.

You will find lots of help here to fix your problems... but we need to know all the facts to give some sort of valueable advise.....

I have tried adding fuel on my own in the scanmaster and it just spit and sputtered. Eric burned my chips for the te60 and my inj so I'm not sure. My pump is about 5 yrs old, I wonder if its just not pumping enough fuel? I believe I have the limit enginering te60.

I have a ta49 with the bigger precision exh. housing and a billet inlet bell that I am willing to trade. PM if interested. Can send pics if you want, Thanks.

What are your BLM's?

What is the fuel setting in the chip?

What version chip do you have?

similar problem

I also had a ta 49 on my car only used it for a few days on the street before switching to the te 60. my foried gave me his 60 decided to part out his car. I'm also using 42.5's and turbotweak chip. I never sent my chip back to eric to have it reprogramed for the 60. I noticed I was running lean at the top end of the 1/4 mile. I'm going to assume that it's because the turbo is pushing more air then the 49 did and it's running lean??? I spoke to a few guys on the board and they all said just to bump up the wot fuel in the chip and it should solve the problem. I'm also putting on a maf translator next season so I wont have to mess with the chip, just make the adjustments in the box. Just figured I'd share a similar story with you. Good luck

thanks for the reply and story, I put a volt booster kit on and it helped a little.
