Hello,

My power antenna recently quit working. Or more properly it won't stop working. It does a fine job of extending the antenna when I turn the radio on but will only retract with 10 minutes of wiggling/pushing "help". I'd just leave it up, but the motor tries to retract it even when the ignition is off. . . I think that'd drain the battery in a hurry. Any simple fixes or am I looking at pulling off the fender?

Thanks,

the mast drive belt is broken.
to stop it from running on, just unplug the power antenna connector (located up by the blower fan under the hood on the passenger side)

To replace it, you can pull the inner fender liner.

To replace the power antenna, you don't actually have to pull the inner fender. Just remove some of the screws holding the fender together until you can reach up inside to retrieve the antenna. This was described to me as the job from Hell, but I replaced mine and it really was no big problem.
