My car (87 T) still has the old style power steering reservoir. It groans every now and again. I bought a new style reservoir. My question is will the larger diameter hose (feed hose) still reach? Per Kirbans book it gives the part number for the new return hose which I got. If the larger hose won't reach does anyone know where I could get a replacement.

I used some 5/8" heater hose, got about 3 foot worth and cut to fit. Most local parts stores should have it in stock.

I believe that the larger dia hose will just barely reach, but not sure. However, do not use regular hose on the power steering, as it will continually seep & sweat. It will probably never eat totally through, but it will seep and it will aggravate to no end. I bought mine from Pep Boys years back. It is special hose for power steering but universal in application. HTH

Agree with moterator, Use powersteering hose. The factory hose has been discontinued since 1999.

Gary is correct on that one I found out, my hose has been seeping. I got that idea off gnttype in the tech article about replacing the recalled reservoir with the new one. I will try the different hose and hope that works better. I'm running synthetic trans fluid instead of power steering fluid so I hope it holds up.
