I would think #1 New & #3 Unused don't exist and if so they would be serious money.

You are partially incorrect. If I was willing to wait, a friend can get me a remanufactured Cardone unit for ~$450. However, they are not currently in stock at his supplier and I may have to wait for some time.

You might also check local salvage yards for late '80's GM full size station wagons, quite a few landed in those as well as the GN's, good luck.
